Get support from the Government Cyber Unit’s (GCU) Partnering function

GCU Partnering is the relationship and collaboration engine of the cyber unit and acts as a key enabler of the Government Cyber Action Plan (GCAP) by providing structured stakeholder engagement.

We act as the primary interface between GCU and their security and digital stakeholders, supporting effective collaboration across government and with external partners.

We focus on:

  • building trusted relationships
  • understanding stakeholders’ needs and priorities
  • directing organisations to the support and expertise to help improve their cyber security and resilience

We bring together the Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) community to drive collaboration on shared outcomes, collective knowledge, and developing strategic partnerships with suppliers to better leverage government’s scale.

Through this approach, we help ensure that support is accessible, coordinated and aligned to government cyber priorities.

Who can use GCU Partnering

We are available to government organisations seeking support to improve their cyber resilience. Examples include:

  • CISOs and Heads of Cyber, and security teams
  • teams delivering GCAP and other cross-government cyber security initiatives
  • senior leaders responsible for digital and technology programmes
  • cyber policy, risk management and assurance teams across government
  • trusted suppliers
  • international partners

What you can use this service for

You can use GCU Partnering to:

  • access support through a single front door – use our front‑door account management model to connect quickly with GCU and related central services
  • understand what help is available and how to access it – we can help you determine which support options are most relevant to your organisation
  • collaborate with other organisations on shared cyber challenges – connect with other government organisations facing similar cyber security challenges, share experience and work together on common issues with the aim to reduce duplication
  • engage with the CISO community and cross-government forums – discuss shared challenges, priorities and successes, and contribute to collective action
  • support adoption of guidance, standards and assurance processes – find out how to access government cyber security guidance and services, including help to clarify expectations
  • raise cross-cutting issues or risks – let us know issues or risks that affect you, and other organisations, and would benefit from coordinated action. We help connect you with the right teams to address these issues collectively
  • engage with suppliers in a coordinated way – we can engage with suppliers and delivery partners through a more coordinated and consistent approach, helping you benefit from shared insight and government’s collective scale
  • find the right cyber security support for your organisation

How to get support

To get support from GCU Partnering, email GCUPartnering@dsit.gov.uk

When you get in touch, provide a brief outline of your organisation, your role, and the cyber security issue or support you are seeking.

We will review your request and connect you with the most appropriate support, whether that is guidance, a cross-government community, a specific programme, or specialist expertise. Where appropriate, we will help coordinate engagement with other organisations or suppliers.

GCU Partnering does not replace existing support services or assurance routes. Instead, it helps you navigate them and ensures your organisation is directed to the right support as efficiently as possible.
